Every project follows a process.

From site visit to installation.

A digital fabrication process that combines technology, precision, and craftsmanship.

OUR PROCESS

Four steps, one studio.

01

Site visit & scan

High-precision 3D scanning of existing elements, in studio or on site, with sub-millimeter accuracy.

Design and digital recreation of a sculpture

02

Design & recreation

Digital modeling of what is missing, damaged, or yet to exist. Built from references or from your concept.

03

Print & finish

3D printing architecture elements at architectural scale. Large pieces are built in sections, assembled and reinforced in-house, then finished to integrate with the architecture they belong to.

04

Installation

On-site installation with Kaptive, our preferred partner, or with your own qualified contractor.

YOUR STARTING POINT

Start from what you have.

Have the original?

Scan → Fabricate → Finish

Damaged original?

Scan → Reconstruct → Fabricate → Finish

Only photographs?

Historical references → Recreate → Fabricate → Finish

Have an idea?

Concept → Design → Fabricate → Finish

TIMELINE

3–6 months

Typical timeline from first site visit to installed element.

DIGITAL ARCHIVE

The physical piece may change. Its digital record remains.

You own the scan and design files we deliver, and we keep a permanent digital archive so future reproductions can be made from the archived model.

FAQ

What happens if the original is damaged?

Scan, reconstruct, fabricate, finish. Missing areas are digitally reconstructed using remaining geometry, comparable elements, photographs, drawings and other reference material, followed by client review and approval.

Historical references, recreate, fabricate, finish. Sculptures and architectural elements can be digitally recreated from historic photographs and other reference material.

Yes. Concept, design, fabricate, finish. Monumenta develops a client’s concept, sketches, renderings or reference imagery into a fabrication-ready digital model.

The client owns the scan and design files delivered for the project. Monumenta also keeps the digital file indefinitely in its permanent archive, so clients can return and request another reproduction from the archived model.

Installation and project support are coordinated through Kaptive Construction & Preservation, our preferred partner, or the client’s own qualified contractor.
